15 Romantic Staycation Ideas For You And Your Hubby

I think I'd get separation anxiety if I had to leave Meilani and Greyson at home while we went on a vacation. But damn, a vacation does sound nice. I'm pretty sure the inventor of the "staycation" concept was a mother who just needed a bit of a break. It's an awesome idea. You take a "vacation" either at home or somewhere local for a few hours. It's just enough to get the break you deserve. Here are some ideas Roger and I are dying to try:

1. Museum Visit

Intellect is sexy.

2. Late Night Drinks

When the kids are fast asleep (and you've got a babysitter!), head out for a brief late-night-on-the-town. A drink (or two or three) with your hubby is the perfect way to end a long day.

3. Laser Tag

I'm pretty sure I'd crush Roger. LMAO.

4. (Virtually) Revisit Your Favorite Childhood Haunts

Get on Google Earth and then take turns looking at some of your favorite spots growing up. It's so sweet to actually see the places your husband hung out.

5. Picnic in the Park

Pack a picnic. Bring a blanket. Head to the park. Don't get too scandalous y'all! You don't wanna get thrown out. ;-)

6. Camp in the Backyard

After putting the kids to bed, pitch a tent and spend the night outside with your partner. Tell spooky stories or just lie under the stars and do whatever comes natural (LOL). Bring the baby monitor of course!

7. Couples Massage

I'm sure it's romantic to give each other massages, but like, that's way too much work. Head out to a local salon and enjoy just laying near each other while professionals knead out all your stress.

8. Netflix-and-Chill

What's the chill mean...?

9. A Groupon Day

I know I'm late to the party, but websites like Groupon and LivingSocial are great staycation-idea-generators. Plus, you're saving money. It's a win-win.

10. Shopping

Is this romantic? I think so! If your hubby's getting bored, go bikini shopping and ask for his opinion as you model the options. That'll keep him satisfied.

11. Fitness Class

A bunch of those boutique, fancy gyms offer a free first class. Take one together. There's nothing hotter than a sweaty couple!

12. Go Technology-Free for 1 Hour

When I heard this, I freaked out a bit, but I'm starting to see the appeal. Spending an hour together, totally uninterrupted, is such a rare thing. Could be fun!

13. Brunch

Because brunch gives us all life!

14. Cook a Meal Together

The hubby's gotta learn how to cook at some point, right?!

15. Nap

...because sometimes, that's all you want.
