Time goes by way too quickly. So quickly in fact that it’s easy to lose total track of who you are and how you’re really doing. It’s a horrible cycle that we all fall into every single day. It doesn’t have to be this way. As impossible as it may seem, it’s easy to find time for yourself, and just yourself, if you put in a little work. Here are some easy tips to finding some “me time” during the day, no matter how much you have going on.

1. Get up 10 minutes early. If you’re not a morning person this one can be hard but trust us, it’s worth it. Set your alarm 10 minutes early. Don’t hit snooze and don’t roll over and go back to sleep. Get up, grab your cup of coffee and enjoy some silence before your hectic day begins.

2. Go to bed 10 minutes early. If you’re not a morning person then this one is your answer. We’re not saying go to sleep 10 minutes early. We’re saying, shut yourself off in your own room, in your own bed, 10 minutes before you normally wood. Do some pre-sleep yoga in bed or read a little of that book you’ve been ignoring. This is your 10 minutes before you close your eyes and hit the hay.

3. Lunch alone. It’s so easy to get caught up in either not taking lunch or going to lunch with your boss and coworkers. Screw that. Take yourself to lunch. Grab a salad or sandwich and go sit by the river. Take yourself to that cute little bistro that no one in the office knows about yet. Refresh and recharge all alone before you have to tackle the rest of your workday.

4. Take the bus. If you already take public transport to work, you’re already getting some great me time without realizing. Download your favorite podcast or find a special audiobook and save it only for your train ride. You have something to get you through the commute AND it’s something you will enjoy all by yourself.

5. Take a walk. Seriously! Right now! Why are you still reading this list? Get out and enjoy the outdoors. Your mind and body benefit from the sun the minute you step outside.

What's your cheat for finding some me time during the day?
