5 Stages of Grief You Experince When You're Tagged in an Unflattering Photo
We've all been there. Someone uploads pictures from last night's party and you're tagged in the ugliest picture of yourself you've ever seen. Grief is an important part of life. It teaches us about the world and about ourselves. It's understandable to feel grief
1. Denial
Why are you tagged in this photo? That's not even you! That's some chick at the bar who just happened to wear the same exact outfit as you. It's so weird how your friends took pictures with her. Where were you when this happened? Did you really get that drunk? Wow, she really looks terrible. You would never go out like that in public.
2. Anger
Wait, that is you! What the f*#k! These people, supposedly your friends, took a picture of you while you looked like that? And then posted it on Facebook and tagged you for the entire world to see! You're mid-blink, your hair is a frizzy mess, and you have about twelve chins. This picture should have been burned immediately. Whoever uploaded and tagged you isn't your friend! They're purposely trying to ruin your life!
3. Bargaining
If only you hadn't taken that many shots of Fireball. If only you spent five extra minutes on your contour. If only you didn't spill that entire glass of wine on your blouse. If only your friends told you that you had lipstick all over your teeth and looked like a child who just drank a gallon of cherry Koolaid. If only you didn't even go out at all that night, and just stayed in and binged watched whatever reality show was having a marathon on Bravo at the time.
4. Depression
Maybe you should just delete your entire presence on social media. That way, no one could ever trace the picture back to you. Or you could quit your job and move to an island off the coast of India or something. Somewhere no on will ever find you, point their finger, and say, "You're that ugly girl from that picture!" You need a tissue box and and a Terms of Endearment rewatch.
5. Acceptance
Okay, this isn't the worst thing that's ever happened to you. Getting into fight with the homecoming queen from you graduating class in someone's status update, that was pretty bad. But this is nothing! Everyone know you're much hotter in real life. Wait, what's this? Untag? UNTAG!
