5-year-old BFFs Get Same Haircut So People Can't Tell Them Apart

An amazing BFF story from pint sized besties.

Meet Jax Rosebush and Reddy Weldon. These two absolutely adorable 5 year old boys are best friends and classmates in Louisville, Kentucky. Jax, who is white, had a great idea for a fun way to prank their teacher. He wanted to get his hair cut just like his Black bestie Reddy's, so that she would not be able to tell them apart. Watch their story:

The boys went viral after Jax's mom posted their haircut story on Facebook. She wrote: "This morning Jax and I were discussing his wild hair...I told him that he needed a haircut this weekend. He said that he wanted his head shaved really short so he could look like his friend Reddy."

You can see Lydia Rosebush's original Facebook post here:

It truly is a story of fate that these boys ended up in each other's lives. Reddy and his big brother Enock were born in Africa. Pastor Kevin Weldon and his wife Debbie adopted Reddy and Enock when they were ages 2 and 4. The Weldons are white, and they say that their sons are their legacy just as biological children would be. Kevin Weldon told WAVE3 News: "My sons do not look like me... but we are family all the same," Weldon said. "We share the same last name, love each other with all we have, and are a forever family. One day when I am gone, they will inherit all that I have and carry on our family name."

Sounds like the parents of both boys are teaching them that we are all one human family. With today's racial climate, this message is refreshing message.

While some critics may dismiss the philosophy of colorblindness as naive, it is nice to see two handsome, happy boys learning what friendship is all about.

Jax's dad leaves us with this thought: "There's an innocence children have that sometimes we lose...If we could get some of that back, I think it would be amazing."

We think Jax and Reddy are adorable. What do you think?
