8 Things to Remember When Trying to Regain Motivation
If you're alive, chances are you have a goal, or perhaps you have some goals that are currently paused, or that you've given up on. "What's the point?" of the goal, of life, of anything, really, you ask yourself in quiet moments. Then you make some dinner, watch TV or do anything else but wait around to listen for an answer that may never come.
This is what it's like to have lost motivation. To be living on autopilot, not steering your plane in the direction you want, or any direction really. It's existing without the intention of thriving or progressing toward something you want. Here are some key things to remember in these times of lost motivation.
1. When you realize that you can't change something, and let it go, you open the floodgates for what is meant to be, to become real.
2. Train your brain to seek the light, beauty and grace in every situation, and soon enough it will become second nature.
3. When you can't change your load, alter the way you carry it, and while it may not be lighter, it can strengthen new parts of you.
5. Know that lasting success is determined by your ability, motivation and attitude. It's what you're capable of, what you do, and how you feel about it.
6. Rather than dreading something, just do it. If you're afraid of being judged, or are uncertain of what the outcome may be, but you simply can't get it out of your mind, as long as it isn't hurting anyone (yourself included) express the thing that's on your mind.
7. Struggle is not equivalent with failure. You can fall, but it means that you were once in motion, and are able to bounce back up as long as you refuse to stop moving.
8. It's better to be exhausted from meaningful work, than tired from doing nothing of substance.
