A Fairytale Ending: Happily Ever After vs. Reality
It’s been sixteen long years since the prince crawled through your window by climbing your golden locks. Has your fantasy Happily Ever After made for a good reality? Let’s find out!
1. You Just Gave Birth to the Seven Dwarves
When did you become their maid? You didn’t wander into their home and pass out on their beds. No, no, they wandered into your home and completely took over. You wouldn’t trade them for the world, though (unless Rumpelstiltskin had a really sweet offer…).
2. A Sleep Curse Would Be a Dream Come True at This Point
Why exactly is getting to sleep for sixty days and sixty nights considered a bad thing? The idea of passing out in a nice patch of sunlight in the forest sounds pretty dang nice to you at this point.
3. The Wicked Witch Keeps Showing Up … and Your Kids Like Her More Than You
Is that an old hag on your doorstep? Oh, wait, it’s just your mother in law. You probably shouldn’t refer to her as old and wrinkly… She’s here to dwarf-sit, which basically means letting them eat candy for dinner and then leaving before they need to go to bed.
4. Prince Charming is Looking for a Lot More Than a Kiss
Prince Charming is getting home from work and looking to spend a little quality time behind closed doors. You laugh. It was your turn to pick up the dwarves from school, which means it’s rime for you to unwind in the bath. Remember the good old days when a kiss was enough?
5. Your Fairy Godmother is Called Netflix
Sure, you could get dressed up and hit up the local ball Prince Charming’s little brother is throwing … or you could stay home and catch up on the latest season of Orange is the New Black. Look, you just got all of the little dwarves to sleep — the last thing you want to do is invite the Evil Step-Grandma over to watch them. You’re just going to curl up and enjoy a night in for a change.
You could complain, but it’s actually pretty nice sitting on the couch with seven sleeping dwarves and a lightly snoring Prince Charming on your right. Actually, wouldn’t change a thing. Ever after may not be perfect, but it’s still pretty happy.
