We all know it's cold as a polar bear's toenails on the east coast with the #bombcyclone in full effect! Ouch! But it's a damn shame that groups of Baltimore elementary students had to wear their winter coats in their classrooms all day, and gloves...and hats! WTF?

Students and teachers showed up to school only to be met with freezing cold temperatures because the school's heating system was broken. According to The Grio, schools all across the city of Baltimore were affected. Friends of educator, Aaron Maybin, showed us what it looked like inside the classroom.

Heart breaking right? Fellow educator, Jesse Schneiderman, a social studies teacher at Frederick Douglass High School told the Baltimore Brew “It was miserable. The kids had their coats, hats and gloves on all day.” Some teachers like Patterson High School teacher Jim Ritter, reports that temperatures only reached 46 degrees with the help of space heaters.

Many question why the city of Baltimore did not close all schools. Parents took matters into their own hands by picking up their children and some students left on their own.

And to make matters worse, some schools are experiencing electrical problems as well.

There is a GoFundMe account created to help raise funds for heat in Baltimore city schools. The kids of Baltimore city schools deserve much better.
