Betty White's Secret to a Healthy Life & Successful Career
It's no secret that we all love Betty White. She's been sharing her talent with us for generations through just about every medium and we still can't get enough of it. Not only has her talent prevailed through the years, but so has her health. How many actors can say they've been steadily working for over 70 years? Not saying any names, but some actors have to do something crazy every other week to stay relevant that long...
Her latest project just happens to involve our very own NeNe Leakes. ABC revived classic 60's game show 'To Tell The Truth' in which Betty originally starred in (or in our words, slayed in) and it's definitely worth the watch. As you can see above, the celebrity panelists question three individuals who claim to be the same person with the same story. Things like: who is really Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriend? Who is the real drag queen? It is up to the panelists to figure out who is actually telling the truth. It's very similar to the childhood classroom game "two truths and a lie," except...it includes hilarious celebrities asking even more hilarious questions. We're so into it.
But that got us thinking...WHAT IS BETTY WHITES SECRET?
Well, let's just say a mixture of a lot of things. A lot of things that you should start paying attention to. Take notes, hunni! This 94 year old treasure has a lot to tell you.
1. She's a vegetarian and has been for 3 decades.
White has stated on several occasions that she's been a vegetarian (with some exceptions) for three decades. The Inquisitir reported, "As an animal rights activist, Betty White has publicized her belief that she could never eat a “best friend.” She also has credited her youthful complexion to giving up red meat. She supports the Farm Animal Reform Movement and Friends of Animals group."
2. She credits her gene pool.
On Oprah's Where Are They Now, she stated, “I think it’s my gene pool. I can give my mom and dad the thanks for that.” Betty...where can we sign up?
3. It's because of how busy she is.
Think about it: she's always been acting! She told People,"There's no spare time, so I'm active all the time. I think that forces you to stay well. To be 90... and still be working--that's what I wouldn't have expected. I'm the luckiest broad on two feet."
