Remember Eddie Murphy as Santa in the “Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood” skit? That was LMAO funny, but…hardly appropriate for the youngins!

Studies have proven time and time again that children in their formative years need to see positive examples for inspiration to be or do good. And who better than good ole Santa Claus? We mean, he travels the entire world in one night, just to give presents away. That's going above and beyond "nice". But everything's high-tech now, so Santa can be nice without anyone having to leave the comfort of their homes.

While diversity is slowly rolling out with dolls and some other toys, it hadn’t quite made its way to the North Pole…Until now.

“When I grew up there was only one type of Santa, and no matter where I went they always looked the same,” app creator Amber Ravenel told Huffington Post. "Not one looked like me or anyone in my family."

Ravenel added, "As our society becomes more and more diverse, I think it’s crucial that there is diversity and inclusion in all aspects of life, and the tech tools we use. That should include Santa Claus as well.”

The Ravenel Agency's 2017 app brings the little ones to face with St. Nick by way of a video message sent directly from the Jolly One himself.

And here’s an added bonus: Talk to Santa wherever you may be, without having to face the madness of the malls!

The Black Santa app is available for download on iTunes.

For good measure, though unrelated to the app, there’s a Black Santa party rental company, and the Black Santa emoji.
