Most street fights don’t have a happy ending—this isn’t most street fights.

Two teens were throwing fists in the middle of an empty road, being filmed by a jeering crowd, when suddenly a complete stranger approached, resolved the problem, and then had the boys shake hands.

Yup, just like that.

The clip comes from Atlantic City, New Jersey. There’s a few seconds of mild brawling between two boys before an unidentified man walks up and stops the fight.

But he doesn’t start by calling out the fighters; he first shames everyone egging them on. “All y’all, y’all the real cowards,” while pointing to the laughing onlookers, most of whom are filming the incident. #Preach

Only then does he address the two boys who were actually going at it. “You’re more mad than he is,” he tells the one in the white shirt. And he appears to be correct; the teen in white immediately accuses the one in gray sweats of starting the entire incident.

He continues to talk the two kids down, convincing them that they don’t really hate each other, they’re just being pressured into a quarrel by the gang surrounding them. And then he really drives his point home, telling everyone assembled that, “Y’all almost men. You ain’t kids no more. Y’all girls ain’t little girls no more.”

“Don’t make your parents look like this, yo. It’s important,” he adds towards the end of his completely justified intervention. Then, the unidentified man refuses to leave until the two boys have shaken hands.

Wow! Wee need more random positive role models like this!
