Don't Touch My Hair! Black Woman Creates Videogame To Remind White People: Hands Off
We've all been there. Whether you have curls, locs, braids or some other hairstyle, white people get so fascinated that they forget you're not actually at a petting zoo. It's annoying. #PleaseDont
This video game, created by a Portland-based creative named Momo Pixel, allows you to slap away to your heart's desire! The object of the game, Hair Nah, is to make it to the airport to catch a flight. On the way, white folks flock to try to touch your hair and you have to try to swat away as many hands as possible.
Black people will find Hair Nah cathartic, and white people...well, white people will HOPEFULLY stop putting their damn hands in people's hair in real life. We can always dream.
Momo says she was inspired to create the game from her own frustrating experiences. "I'll be walking, and a woman will reach her hands into my head. I'm talking to a teammate, and a co-worker I just met is holding my hair in his hand. The moment someone mentions my hair, I grab it to claim ownership."
Momo is sick and tired of it, so she's trying to make a difference with this game.
"Who I'm really hoping to get are those women and men who may not really be paying attention to their actions or don't see them as offensive. I hope they see themselves in this game and be like, "Oh my God." And then from there stop doing it."

You can customize your character in the game to share your skin tone and hairstyle. It's pretty much genius. Momo published the game in collaboration with the agency that she works for as an art director, Wieden+Kennedy.
This multi-talented lady made the entire game herself -- she designed, wrote, art directed and sang the music for it.
Since then, the game has gone viral on Twitter, where Black women are having a field day with it. This is an experience everyone can relate to! Even Black men experience the same thing. We all want to scream it: don't touch my haiiiiirrrr.
Who's gonna try it?
