Boom! Kaepernick Donates Final $100K of His Million Dollar Pledge to Help Communities In Need
If there's anything we know about Colin Kaepernick it's that he is a man of his word!
The NFL free agent recently announced that he will name 10 beneficiaries over the next 10 days for the final $100,000 of his $1 million pledge to charity, ESPN reported.
Each organization picked will receive an additional $10,000 from a different celebrity. Kevin Durant was the first famous folk to join in on the fun!
"For the last round of my #MillionDollarPledge I'm going #10for10! My brother @KDTrey5 is joining & chose DeBug in the Bay Area! I’m donating $10k, KD's donating $10k! Thank you brother for all the hard work! See it on http://kaepernick7.com & check tomorrow to see who's joining!," he tweeted.
ESPN noted that the $20,000 total will go toward travel stipends for families to visit their loved ones in prison along with raising awareness about a campaign for a law that would increase protections to young people in prison. The funds will also go to helping funding pretrial release for those who can't make bail.
Talk about giving back!
Since October of 2016, Kap has donated to more than 30 groups and causes, including Mothers Against Police Brutality and I Will Not Die Young Campaign.
We can only hope that his 2018 will bring him an NFL team, whether he and Diddy can buy the Panthers or he gets signed by one. That would be the much-needed icing on the cake!!!
We're rooting for you Kaepernick!!! Thank you for everything you do! #ImWithKap
