Brad Pitt Will (Probably) Not Be Prosecuted For Alleged Assault Against Son Maddox
Well, at least we can put one rumor to rest regarding the split of Brangelina.
According to law enforcement, it is highly unlikely Brad Pitt will be prosecuted for the alleged assault against his 15-year-old son Maddox.
Sources tell TMZ it all went down when "Maddox said something to Brad that pissed him off, Brad then lunged at his son, Angelina stepped in between them and at that point there was some physical contact between Brad and Maddox."
However, there are far too many conflicting stories for law enforcement to actually take this seriously. This makes us wonder, did the "witnesses" that are coming forward actually see what happened...or are they just in it for the money?
What appears to be true is that Brad did make some physical contact with son Maddox in the shoulder area. Whether it was intentional or not is something we don't know...regardless, not many people get prosecuted for child abuse for making light physical contact in the shoulder area.
We say light because DCFS social workers said they saw "no evidence of injuries on Maddox." Not one little bruise or cut. Allegations against Brad were clearly out of hand to begin with. Oh! And we should mention that no one filed a police report after. If the so-called "witnesses" really saw something that terrible, wouldn't they file a police report immediately? Or at least tell somebody? Once again, this is why everyone has a hard time taking this seriously.
This has raised a lot of questions about child abuse. How fine is the line between normal parental discipline and straight up abuse? Are we giving Brad harsher treatment because he is a celebrity?
At the end of the day, we know nothing about how Brad really is as a father. But according to this allegations, it seems like he was just disciplining his son.
Twitter users as usual made fun of the whole situation. No one is necessarily encouraging his behavior, but basically stating that it really isn't that big of a deal and we should let Brangelina divorce in peace.
According to TMZ, "The L.A. County Dept. of Children's Services has a broader scope than the FBI. DCFS will go beyond the jet incident and talk to the kids and parents about the overall living situation." More information is to come soon.
