BREAKING: Sean Spicer Resigns As White House Press Secretary
Spicey, OUT.
The New York Times is reporting that White House press secretary Sean Spicer resigned Friday morning because he "vehemently disagreed" with President Donald Trump's decision to appoint investor and former Trump campaign fundraiser Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.
Trump reportedly offered Scaramucci the job at 10 a.m. Eastern Time Friday. Though Trump is said to have requested that the press secretary stay on, Spicer reportedly told Trump that he was making a huge mistake by hiring Scaramucci and quit as a result.
People on Twitter are mourning Spicer's resignation — but only because they won't get to see Melissa McCarthy's impression of him on Saturday Night Live anymore.
Best wishes on your post-White House journey, Spicer, and wherever your motorized podium may take you.
