BREAKING: Steve Bannon Removed From National Security Council
It's about damn time.
Steven Bannon has officially been removed from the National Security Council. While Trump's cabinet is still full of questionable individuals, at least we got the worst one out, right?
A White House official told NBC News that the only reason Bannon was a part of the National Security Council's Principals' Committee was as a "check against Michael Flynn," Trump's former national security adviser.
You probably remember Flynn resigning in February after he misled Mike Pence about a conversation he had with Russia's ambassador.
The White House claims Bannon was simply no longer needed on the council after Flynn resigned. An aide added that Bannon only attended one NSC meeting in the first place. While we want to take their word for it, wouldn't this mean Bannon would be removed in February?
Bannon was a controversial choice for the National Security Council and has been receiving a tremendous amount of backlash ever since he started working with Trump. We're thinking the White House is attempting to rid themselves of the controversy surrounding Bannon.
Either way, we're just happy to see him gone.
