Wade McCrae, A Bodybuilder With Cerebral Palsy, Is Simply Inspiring
Think you're a big, strong guy? Impressed with what you lift and how your guns look in the mirror when you work out? We're about to give you the most inspiring slice of humble pie ever. Ready?
Meet Wade. Wade McCrae is a 45-year-old bodybuilder who's 100 times more badass than you. And he has cerebral palsy.
At 11 months, Wade was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Doctors told his parents he'd never live past 18 years old. He lives with scoliosis. It's pretty safe to say he SMASHED through everyone's expectations!
Since the age of 12, Wade has wanted to be a bodybuilder. Later in life, he found that weight training helped improve the symptoms of his disabilities. Married for 22 years (high-five there!) and a proud grandfather, Wade even got his professional bodybuilding card!
Wade exemplifies the true spirit and heart of an athlete! Going to the gym is not (just) about bulking up to look great. It's about putting in the work with diligence and strength to become a more healthy, more strong and more hardcore version of yourself! We get from life what we are willing to put into it; what kind of effort are YOU making?
Next time you feel like skipping a rep. Or tossing back a few instead of hitting leg day, think of Wade. With every card stacked against his deck, he's managed to improve the quality of life and touch millions of people around the world, leading by example!
You feeling inspired yet? Good. Now go kick some ass, for Wade and for yourself!
