Civil Rights Abuse?! Former Trump Advisor Claims He's A Victim In Ongoing Scandal
Carter Page is claiming that his civil rights have been violated – what do you think?
The former Trump national security advisor is one of the key players in all the Russian drama we keep hearing about. He was allegedly one of the central characters with ties to the foreign government that supposedly influenced the Presidential election.
Obviously he denies all of it. "Without question, this cloud, which has been out there for many months going back to even before the election, has been a major drag on the administration and again based entirely on lies," said Page to CNN. And really, what do you expect him to say?
It’s this next line, however, that has people scratching their heads today. “I've been the victim of the one of the most horrendous civil rights violations in recent US election history.”
Huh?
He doesn’t really explain much more than that, except to say that all the allegations against him and others are completely fabricated and that, as such, the turning upside down of his life is completely unprecedented.
The major accusations in the case, reported by many news outlets, claim that Russian operatives were influencing key Trump advisors (including Page). There was also a leak of unverified information that alleged even more egregious ties to the Russians, but most of those allegations were eventually found to be shaky at best.
The publication of that one mostly-proven-false dossier is the shield the accused continue to hide behind. "There's been such a complete firestorm based on this completely false narrative," continued Page.
The advisor first came under fire last year, when he delivered a speech in Moscow that was critical of United States policy. It was alarming enough that the FBI started paying attention way back then, and by all accounts, this investigation will be ongoing for a long while to come
