Racist Graffiti In High School Targets Black Students...Scares Them & Parents
This has got to stop! Our kids can’t even go to school without wondering if someone’s going to try and kill them. Check out what is just the latest in a series of sad but true stories…
Commerce High School near Atlanta, GA., was the site of a covert hate crime. While they do have a zero-tolerance policy and are working to find the perpetrator…that’s not enough to calm the fears of some students and their parents.
Graffiti and racial slurs written inside a bathroom stall have students and parents at Commerce High School shaken, because it’s clearly a death threat aimed at certain Black students. The image posted to several social media sites shows what appears to be a list of seven students’ names written in permanent marker under three words: “ni**as to eliminate.”
Below, in blue ink were the phrases “Support the white race” and “Trump Squad.” To the side, a swastika was sketched.
Andrea Brown, the mother of one of the targeted students, told Fox5 News, “My son has a perfect attendance record, but he’s not in school today.” The fear is real. This self-proclaimed “Trump Squad” could be hiding anywhere.
“The administrators are working with the Commerce Police Department to investigate the matter,” Superintendent Dr. Joy Tolbert addressed the issue on Facebook.
I am writing to let you know about an incident that occurred at CHS yesterday afternoon. Mr. Smith was made aware of some graffiti and racial slurs that were written on the inside of a bathroom stall in one of the boys' restrooms. At that point, that restroom was closed and the graffiti was removed. However, someone took a picture of the graffiti and posted it on social media prior to the restroom being closed. The administrators are working with the Commerce Police Department to investigate the matter. A monetary reward has been offered to the student who identifies the person guilty of writing the graffiti. Mr. Smith made an announcement to all students this morning that this type of behavior will not be tolerated at Commerce High School. When the student, who wrote the graffiti is identified, the student will be dealt with accordingly. Any student, who knows anything about who might have written the graffiti, is encouraged to let school administrators know. Please know that we are doing all that we can to keep all of our students safe.

Superintendent
Tolbert stated they are offering a monetary reward for information leading to the apprehension of the person or persons behind the threats. Money talks…will the promise of money make someone talk and tell? We’ll see! But in the meantime, you’ve gotta wonder if there are cameras installed around the school. There’s been no mention of any surveillance video.
Commerce Police said they added additional school resource officers following the discovery of the graffiti.
