Art Thief Drives Stolen Car From Miami To Virginia To Get A Presidential Pardon & Get Arrested AGAIN!
NBC4 Washington

Before President Obama’s time in the White House came to a close, in mid-January, one man rushed to try to get a presidential pardon for a past crime. Turns out though, instead of being pardoned, he ended up getting a whole other charge for stealing a car!

Earlier last month, Marcus Patman, a convicted art thief, wanted his crime taken off his record, and he hoped to meet with Attorney General Eric Holder to talk it through.

Problem number one: Holder wasn’t even in the position anymore. Loretta Lynch had been in that position since 2015, before Jeff Sessions took over under Trump. Problem number two: The guy had no scheduled meeting or anything. He just took a chance and headed on a road trip from Miami to try to make it to DC...but ended up getting busted for jacking a car to do so.

Marcus got caught after parking the car by a Starbucks in Arlington, VA. Police, using one of their license plate scanners, found that the vehicle had been reported stolen and quickly arrested him. So Marcus didn’t get his pardon, and he ended up being bars AGAIN.

This isn’t the guy’s first run in with the law. As stated, Marcus was convicted of stealing art (literally hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of pieces!) back in 2009, and spent almost two years in jail before being released in 2012. He also was convicted of assault back in 2001.

Poor dude. Trying to get to his life together, but clearly went the wrong way about it!
