Crab Cakes and Football! Wedding Crashers 2 is Finally in the Works!!!

Eleven years is a long time to *cling* to a movie, but hopefully we can all move on soon.

The 2005 hit Wedding Crashers may finally be getting a sequel, according to one of the first film’s stars!

Isla Fisher, who played that batshit crazy redhead in the first film (“I’ll find youuuuuu”), appeared on the Today show yesterday to promote her upcoming movie Nocturnal Animals. But at one point, the comedy classic staring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson came up in conversation, and Isla let this bomb drop:

“I bumped into Vince Vaughn at a party and he said that apparently we’re going to be making a sequel. So I’m really excited to see what happened to Gloria.”

Get the crab cakes and daiquiris ready.

Immediately after, Isla seemed to realize this isn’t the sort of announcement one makes willy-nilly on a breakfast TV show, so she backtracked a bit and said, “Well, I don’t know about that. I shouldn’t really announce it on morning television. But apparently there’s some talk of it, which is fun.”

Absolutely none of this is confirmed, but hey, we can hope right?

It wouldn’t be the first time Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson appeared on screen in the past decade. They co-starred in 2013’s “The Internship”, the story of two middle-aged guys trying to restart their lives in the tech industry.

Unsurprisingly, that premise didn’t attract as big an audience as two middle-aged guys scamming newlyweds and sleeping with dozens of women, but hopefully we’ll get our second dose of Wedding Crashers soon!
