Dallas Police Pull Erykah Badu Over...Just To Say Hi

On New Year's Eve, Erykah Badu filmed herself in her car with the blue and red lights of a police squad car flashing behind her. We all know this scene too well...a Black women filming herself as police officers pull her off and question her. Thankfully, Badu's police experience went a lot  better. In fact, the police officers just pulled Badu over to get a glimpse of the star and say hi. 

When the video was first posted there were a range of reactions. Some thought it was funny while others questioned if it was legal for police officers to be so invasive. However, some are saying the whole video was staged by Badu and the officers. According to WFAA, a local ABC affiliate, the police officers were responding to an alleged stalker and trespasser at Badu's home on the same night. A second video posted to Badu's Instagram shows her and the officers standing in front of a house. Badu says of the first video: "I wasn't harassed or anything."

Staged or nah...we ain't mad at Badu for spreading some much needed holiday cheer.
