'Cash Me Ousside' Girl Is Suing A Gaming Company For $1 Million For Using Her Catchphrase
The "cash me ousside" girl, Danielle Bregoli, is about to catch a gaming company in court for using her catchphrase.
Danielle and her mother, Barbara Ann, filed a trademark lawsuit on Thursday against three gaming companies for using Danielle's signature catchphrase and voice in their mobile apps. The apps, named Cash Me Outside and How Bout Dat, were published under Anonymous Games Inc., according to the Palm Beach Post.
The Bregoli fam isn't planning on brushing this under a rug. In fact, they seek at least $1 million in damages, arguing that they deserve all of the revenue received from both ads and in app purchases.
Apparently, the Bregoli's have been in touch with Anonymous Games since February but the owner kept avoiding contact.
After Danielle threatened them with a lawsuit, they suddenly became more responsive. Now, if you search on the iTunes store, you can see that they changed the app's name to "Get Cash Outside." They also replaced Danielle's catchphrase with "that's lit."
While Bregoli's reps are demanding millions, Anonymous Games claims they came to a verbal agreement in February that they'd paid the Bregoli's $75,000 plus 50% of the ad revenue made from the first game.
Lesson learned: don't use Bregoli's catchphrase unless you want to be served a lawsuit!
