Gotta love Dave Chappelle! The comedian gave perhaps the shortest acceptance speech in Grammy history, but of course: it was hilarious.

Chappelle accepted the Best Comedy Album award for The Age of Spin & Deep in the Heart of Texas from TV personality Trevor Noah at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Chappelle beat out Sarah Silverman, Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Hart and Jim Gaffigan for the top spot.

But first, he opened the show with a powerful speech.

As Deadline Hollywood reported, “Chappelle’s opening bit during the Kendrick Lamar performance offered his characteristic thought-provoke, when he commented, ‘I just want to remind the audience that the only thing more frightening than watching a black man be honest in America is being an honest black man in America.’ "He later drew a loud ovation during his intro to the Best Rap Album when he name-checked some of the lesser-known but influential rappers who passed away this year.”

When it came time to accept his own well-deserved gold trophy, Chappelle said, "I am honored to win an award, finally.” The crowd roared with laughter and applause. “And I wanted to thank everybody at Netflix, everyone at Saturday Night Live and everyone at Chappelle Show," he also thanked everyone in his family.

"See you on Monday," he quipped, and left the stage.

Perfect!

Black Twitter went crazy with congrats for Chappelle… and some hilarious observations as well!

Congrats, Dave!! #2018Grammys
