Disney Is Remaking The Lion King & 'We Just Can't Wait'
Disney

It's safe to say basically every Disney film is being remade into a live action film. Some love it, some hate it. Some feel betrayed by Disney's lack of creativity and nervous that their favorite childhood films will be portrayed wrongly. Yet according to the box office, people will see it anyways. People will see it...a lot. The Jungle Book grossed $965.8 million worldwide. Yes, you heard us right - $965.8 MILLION.

Because of this, Disney is not stopping when it comes to live action remakes. Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson will hit theaters March 2017 which has the majority of fans head-over-heels excited. Who doesn't love Emma Watson and who wouldn't want to see her as brainy bookworm Belle? But as more live action films are brought to the table, people feel more hesitant. Disney has confirmed they are doing a live action Tinkerbell starring Reese Witherspoon, a live action Cruella starring Emma Stone, and a live action Dumbo directed by Tim Burton.

Now, another Disney favorite will soon be made into a live action remake and we just can't wait! (to be king....)

The company just announced that it will be making a "reimagining" of Disney classic The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau who worked on The Jungle Book.

Disney has not specified whether it will be animated or live action but we think it's safe to say it will be similar to the CGI style used in The Jungle Book. Regardless, we're pretty excited to see what direction Favreau takes it!

According to Cosmopolitan, the film will include songs from the original film. Although fans have mixed feelings about this remake, it's just the circle of life. (You see what we did there?)

A release date has not been announced yet but more details are to come soon. In the meantime, hakuna matata!
