Ed Sheeran Sheds Some Light On The Release Date Of Taylor Swift's New Album
It's been waaaaay too long since we've been hit with a Taylor Swift album. Sure, "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" was a nice surprise, but it just didn't have that classic T-Swift feel to it.
Swift currently has 5 albums out. She released records in the fall of 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014. Naturally, Swifties everywhere assumed that meant we would get an album in fall of 2016, but sadly, that was not the case. Considering she broke her own formula, fans were left asking one question: when is the next album coming?
But now, Ed Sheeran is spilling the tea on TayTay's new album. And luckily, we don't have to wait too long.
While chatting with the BBC, Sheeran revealed that he wanted to release his album during a time with very low competition.
"I think this year is going to be the high point," he said. "I have a feeling about it. Seventeen is my lucky number, and everyone I was scared of releasing of albums around me released them all last year - people like Beyonce and The Weekend and Bruno Mars."
Then, he brought up Taylor. We're not sure if he was technically allowed to do so, but we're glad he did.
"Taylor [Swift] isn't going to be releasing until probably the end of this year. Christmas is the smartest time to release because that's when everyone buys records. So I've got a full year of just all Ed, all the time."
Well, there you have it! This most likely means Swift will release her album in October or November. That's only two-hundred-something days away, but who's counting? We're going to need that pre-order link ASAP.
