OMG There is Going To Be a Magical Harry Potter Festival Oct 21-22!!!
Forget booking a trip to Hollywood or Orlando to go to Universal Studios. Forget booking a trip all the way to London to experience Kings Cross station. Now...all you have to do is go to Philly to experience the world of Harry Potter, thanks to their annual Harry Potter festival.
The festival will be held from October 21-22 in Philly's Chestnut Hill neighborhood. If you never got your Hogwarts letter, you're going to want to be in attendance. Attendees can take Defense Against the Dark arts classes, cheer on their house during a Quidditch match, or get sorted by the sorting hat. In addition, there will be a Harry Potter conference held at Chestnut Hill college, which basically looks like an American Hogwarts. (Take that, Ilvermorny!)
Chesnut Hill will be completely shutting down a six-block area to recreate Hogsmeade. While you walk in, there will be Dumbledore, Ron, Hermione and Harry lookalikes there to greet you. You'll be able to take a ride on their 'Knight Bus,' drink butterbeer or 'Muggles Brew,' see live owls, and take selfies on Privet Drive. We've got four words: WE HAVE TO GO.
If you're looking to attend, admission to the quidditch tournament and street fair is free. The conference requires a $10 registration fee.
However, if you can't attend, don't fret. The festival will be back next year, as always.
