It’s so annoying. You know what “it” is. That extra skin underneath your arms that seems to jiggle and shake at the most inopportune times. Or those slight ripples of skin that show up when you have on a tank top. Not fat exactly. Just skin that’s not as toned as it should be because you can’t remember the last time you worked out your arms.

Even if you’re not a huge fan of working out, there are some things you can do at home to help get, and keep, those flabby arms in check.

1. Lift Some Cans

If you don't own hand-weights, something you can do that’s quick, easy and super simple is to walk around the house with 2 cans of beans in your hands. Curl them up towards your chest while you’re watching television or talking on the phone. It’s not an earth-shattering technique, but it’s better than nothing and can help to get that layer of skin under your arms more toned.

2. Walk on an incline

There’s no way to get around it. Something that you’re going to have to do to get more toned is cardio. How can it help your arms out? If you’re on a treadmill, the key is to walk on a slight incline and then hold the sides of the machine for support. If you do it for about 30 minutes, your arms will receive a much-needed workout.

3. Grip your steering wheel (differently)

Guess what? You can tone your arms, even while you’re sitting in traffic! Just place your hands in the “3 and 9 position” and pull inward. That will help to strengthen your chest. You can also position your hands within the wheel and push outward. That will help to tone the outer part of your upper arms.

4. Tone your triceps with free weights

If you don’t already own a set, you can run up to your local Sports Store to get a pair of free weights. These are more effective than the can trick already discussed. The best way to explain how to use them for your arms is to show you. Click here to learn how.

5. Invest in a resistance band

Please get yourself a resistance band! As “exercise accessories” go, it’s one of the best investments you could ever make. Resistance bands are not only portable and convenient enough to take with you to work or on road trips, but they also can give you a full body workout. Use it for about a month, and you’ll love what it does for your biceps and triceps. Click here for an example of different techniques to try.

6. Switch up your "positions"
