You tell’em, Gabrielle Union

The Being Mary Jane star just stood up – again – for a female reporter on TV getting body-shamed by viewers.

Union first clapped back in November when Demetria Obilor, an anchor for ABC Dallas, was slammed by a viewer for her outfit choice and body-type. Union in turn publicly praised her. "Sending love, light and support to Dallas News Anchor Demetria Obilor who was recently body shamed online. YOU are the real-life Mary Jane... A go-getter news anchor who dresses DOPE and doesn't give a s*** what everyone else thinks," she blasted out on Instagram. Union, who’s also a style entrepreneur, sent her a few dresses from her New York & Company signature Gabrielle Union Collection and the Obilor posted herself in one of the dresses, thanking the actress for her support.

Now Union’s spreading the good vibes again – she just posted a compassionate message to Laura Warren of News 12 and NBC 26 in Augusta, after the anchor was body-shamed by a viewer for wearing a form-fitting dress while 20 weeks pregnant. The viewer called her belly “disgusting.” WTF??! No. Just…No!

Our girl Gabby’s having none of it, either. She quickly posted: "Today's #WCW, Laura Warren, is another hardworking news anchor that I found who was subjected to body shamming...and in this case, pregnant body-shaming!"

Union added, "Instead of letting this bring her down, she fought the good fight and decided to turn the negative energy into positive by saying nice things to as many people as possible and spread love. Plus, she continues to wear whatever feels good to her while on TV!"

These acts of giving and kindness not only show the haters their comments don’t have any affect, but it also goes to show the power that comes with calling these cowardly lowlifes out. You try to body shame a pregnant reporter? She gets a new dress and she’s gonna wear it whether you like it or not! That’s how it’s done, folks.

As Union said, "Flaunt what your mama gave ya!”

Kudos to Gabrielle Union and all the ladies who “Dress Dope & Don’t Give a Sh*t!”
