This is hilarious! When a Jeopardy! contestant mispronounced “Gangsta” in response to the Double Jeopardy! question “A song by Coolio from ‘Dangerous Minds’ goes back in time to become a 1667 John Milton classic” he cost himself $3,200. Not only that, he was slammed down to second place. Clearly, this dude was not "down with the hood team."

Nick Spicher seemed to take the news in stride when host Alex Trebek, after first approving the answer, corrected him a few minutes later and took back the $3,200. “Our judges have re-evaluated one of your responses a few minutes ago, Nick. You said gangster’s instead of gangsta’s on that song by Coolio, so we take $3,200 away from you. You are now in second place.” #ouch

The clip quickly went viral.

Coolio himself even weighed in! He told TMZ he thought Spicher's answer was close enough and he should’ve gotten the money. However, he says when in doubt, go with just an “a” and not the “er” sound. He agrees with Jeopardy!

In their defense, Jeopardy! posted the following info on their official website:

  • “It turns out that ‘gangsta’ and ‘gangster’ are both listed separately in the Oxford English Dictionary, each with its own unique definition.”

So, Nick changed not only the song’s title, but also its meaning – making his response a no-go.

As for Nick, he just wants it all to "blow over."

What do think? Is Coolio correct, or are the Jeopardy! judges right in their decision? #GangstasParadise #moneyonmymind
