Lil Rel ('Get Out') Says He Didn't Get Oscar Invite--Even Though Movie Is Up for 4 Awards

WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING HERE!!!

According to Lil Rel Howery, while his film "Get Out" was nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture, the comedian HAS YET to be invited to the 2018 Oscars. 

HUH???? HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE???

Apparently, Lil Rel revealed this fact on a recent episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" when Jimmy asked him if he was going to the ceremony to cheer on his people. 

"Well, I thought I was. You know, we called today looking for my ticket. And they were like, 'You’re not in the first group,' " Howery revealed. 

“So, the first tickets that they give out, I’m not on that list.”

Clearly, he was confused as to what was going on with his invite, so he joked that he went on YouTube to count how many people attended last year’s Oscars on behalf of Moonlight and La La Land.  “There was like 20 people on the stage,” Howery argued. “So they get extra tickets.”

But Jimmy said he's got Lil Rel's back. “Listen, I’ll get you in, don’t worry — I’m the host of it. You had a big part in that movie. It’s not like you had a little scene.”

Jimmy IS right about that...Lil Rel delivered some of the most iconic scenes in the entire film, especially the last line of the movie.

"I'm TS-mothaf#$ing A. Consider it handled."

All jokes aside, Lil Rel is clear that he wants his invite: “I’m serious. I want to go.”

The Hollywood Reporter wrote that perhaps Lil Rel's worries are a bit premature, since the first round of invites go to actual nominees, which he is not. There is a chance that he could get his tickets on the second round. 

BUT THAT'S NOT A GUARANTEE EITHER. The Academy hasn't reviewed studio requests yet.

Not surprisingly, Universal hasn't said much about the issue, but an Academy spokesperson told THR, "We extend invitations to nominees only, and each studio and distributor receives a limited ticket allotment to use at their discretion."

LISTEN...WE DON'T CARE WHAT IT TAKES...SOMEBODY BETTER GET THIS MAN A TICKET TO THE OSCARS!!!
