Boho Bountiful: How to Incorporate Your Boho Items with Newer Trends
The Bohemian (Boho) fashion trend is a fascinating one. Even though there are some years when it’s more popular than others, it’s not a look that ever really goes out of style. People who are fond of it tend to wear something that fits into the trend all of the time, one way or another.
But being that it was HUGE last year, you may have “overdosed” on some pieces. Now that you’re trying to ease into some other hot looks, you might wonder if you should hang on to your Boho stuff or give it away.
Keep it. Some of the latest fashion looks actually go really well with Boho style…
1. Layered jewelry and tank
When it comes to the Boho look, the more jewelry, the better. So long as it’s earthy and vintage pieces. If you have a ton of that, throw on a tank top (preferably a silk cami) and you’re ready for what the day brings. This season, the more tanks a woman has, the better.
2. Lace top and distressed jean shorts or skirt
White lace is pretty much a staple of the Boho style. And right now, distressed jean shorts are popular. What’s even bigger is a distressed jean skirt that stops right above the knee. Pair a white lace top with the skirt and some ankle boots and how could you possibly go wrong?
3. Kimono and romper
We love the “Boho kimono” whether it’s made out of silk, lace or organic cotton because you can dress it up or down. This season, add a classic black romper or little black dress to it. All you need are a set of bangles and some sandals and you’ll have the perfect first date look.
4. Sheer white dress and lingerie
Yeah. Typically lingerie pieces are reserved for underneath your clothes, but not this year. From slip dresses to bras, it’s all about showing lingerie off! If you purchased a sheer white dress last year, wear a slip or bra in another color underneath. It’ll be eye-catching on so many levels.
5. Graphic tee and maxi skirt
Have graphic tees ever really gone anywhere? We’ve just noticed that quite a few models have been wearing them on runways, so we thought we should mention it. With jeans, it’s a casual look. But with a printed maxi skirt? It’s oh so Boho!
6. Boho headgear
Hair jewelry is also a huge part of the Boho style culture. But if you want to look just like a fashion plate, add a headband, crown or turban to your outfit. Magazines like Glamour have featured it as a must-have look for this season. Fitting for a queen like you, right?
