Where They Do That At? School Guard Handcuffs & Rips The Hijab Of A Muslim Student & The Student Was Suspended
The treatment of Muslims in this country by some people can be downright disgusting!
A female Muslim student at Apple Valley High School in Minnesota was being harassed by a male student, who had the audacity to call her a terrorist. Of course, an altercation followed as the unidentified girl attempted to defend herself and her faith. However, SHE ended up being the one forcefully taken away.
To break up the altercation, Jason Rieck, a guard at the school, grabbed and handcuffed the girl, and then snatched her hijab on her head! He then called for backup, and three officers came to take away the girl for questioning. Jason’s reported excessive force, however, landed him on administrative leave, after the student gave her version of events. “I’m scared for my safety at Apple Valley High School,” the girl admitted. “I feel very threatened.”
She was initially suspended for her role in the altercation, but that was eventually lifted. Meanwhile, the police are continuing to investigate the incident to see what really went down.
This dude definitely needs to be punished by the school! Why did he go after only her, and then go as far to rip her hijab off? A Minnesota chapter of CAIR (The Council on American-Islamic Relations) is fighting for the young girl, wanting to see justice for her. There’s no reason why she should have been treated this way by the male student, or this guard.
However, it’s nothing new in this country, sad to say. Muslims are stereotyped and terrorized regularly, as people judge their outer appearance and compare them to other radicals out there in the world. Some Muslims have even gone on to conduct social experiments, like the one below, to see how people in the streets naturally react to them as they exercise their faith.
Thankfully, not everyone is this way, and will step up against injustice like this, but we clearly have a ways to go for a country that claims religious freedom.
