He Starved And Beat His 7-Year-Old Son To Death Then Fed Him To Pigs: 'Worst Case Investigators Ever Saw'
People who abuse and neglect children are not fit to be parents much less walk the streets. Michael A. Jones has pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder of his 7-year old son which occurred in late 2015. Little Adrian Jones died from repeated brutal beatings at the hands of his 46-year old father who now faces life in prison.
The little boy's remains were found the day after police responded to a domestic dispute. On their initial visit, it was discovered that Adrian had been missing. Police conducting a search and found his remains in a barn on the property mauled by pigs. He had been battered, neglected, and starved. "He was horribly abused, neglected, and ultimately killed," Chief Deputy District Attorney Sheryl Lidtke told The Kansas City Star in November 2016.
Authorities say that the home where Jones, his wife, and Adrian lived was filthy and overrun with clutter. Wyandote County District Attorney Jerome Gorman described the deplorable conditions as "one of the worst things investigators had seen in their careers."
If you are wondering where Adrian's stepmother was while he was suffering, 31-year-old Heather Jones was right there in the home. According to her, she and the other children in the home were all being abused by Michael. She claims that she feared for their lives, but didn't seek help from anybody. Her role in this tragedy earned her life in prison for murder and five years, eight months on two counts of child abuse.

Adrian's grandmother wishes that she could have done more to protect Adrian. While the two guilty verdicts give her a bit of closure, she is deeply saddened at the realization that she will never see her grandson again. "It makes me pretty happy," she told the The Kansas City Star. "I'm relieved that [Jones] and Heather [Jones] will hopefully be behind bars for the rest of their life. It won't bring Adrian back, of course, but it makes me feel really good that neither one can hurt another child again."
Michael Jones will be sentenced for his unthinkable crime on May 3. If he gets life in prison, both he and his wife will have to serve 25 years before they get a chance at parole. Apparently this is the maximum sentence that the state will allow, but a special place in hell has already been reserved for them both. Good riddance.
