Would You Eat 2 POUNDS Of Cod Fish A Day?! The Rock Did And Here's Why

If you haven't heard the story of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's relationship with one particular fish, you're missing out on internet legend. This site has shared how to eat right before and after your workout, but the Rock can't just take that advice. He has to adjust his workout fuel for his heroic fitness goals.

It all started when MuscleandFitness shared the Rock's daily food intake (insert your own "now I can smell what the Rock is cooking" jokes here). That was followed by a very funny breakdown of each meal by The Toast. Look, the Rock works out a lot. He eats SEVEN meals a day. That includes 12 eggs, steak, chicken, potatoes, rice and etc.

It also includes 2.3 DAILY POUNDS of this fish - the majestic cod.

Although prepared for the Rock by a chef/nutritionist, it's probably more like:

The Rock ate 1,000 calories in just cod. Statistics website 538 calculated that if your average cod price is $1.75 per pound, he's spending $1,400 a year just on cod. The site even spoke to Mark Webster, a man who tried to replicate the Rock's diet and how often he exercised for one month. After spending $1,200 on food for the month, Webster was in much better shape. His bigger takeaway, however, was his awe of how hard the Rock works to maintain his body.

So what's the current story with the Rock and cod? TechInsider reporter Dave Mosher wanted to get to the bottom of this: 

You hate it?! On top of working for six days a week and eating seven meals daily, imagine eating two pounds of something you hate everyday?! That's just how dedicated the Rock is. Mosher told the Rock he should just let it go:

There you have it. He ate it all the time, he hated eating it, so he stopped. There are other great sources of lean protein that I am sure the Rock is using to maintain his insane workout regimen. Try tilapia? Or maybe ease up on the fish and mercury all together.
