How to Be a Better You in 5 Steps
Are you interested in becoming the best version of yourself that you can possibly be? Well then, you need to start following these five steps. They will lead to you a version of yourself that you didn’t think was possible!
1. Start Listening to People Instead of Talking Over Them
Are you considered the “loud friend.” If so, then you should probably start listening to others. Instead of making an effort to talk the most (and the loudest) step back and let another lead the conversation every once in awhile. You will be absolutely amazed at some of the things that you end up learning!
2. Be More Active
We aren’t just talking about going for more runs. No, being active encompasses many aspects of your daily routine. While exercise will play a large part in this, you will also want to become more active socially. Human beings are social animals and we, as a species, crave attention from and interaction with others. Get out there, try harder to interact with people that you want in your life. Whether you are an introvert or and extrovert, spending at least a little bit of your time being social will be beneficial.
3. Choose to Do Something Kind
It is never too much to try to be nicer. Think about it: how much does it really take to just do something kind for another person? It’s fairly simple. Next time you see one of those people standing outside of your local supermarket, don’t roll your eyes when they ask for a donation. Instead, ask more about their cause and if you agree with their principles, throw a dollar their way.
4. Tell Your Loved Ones How You Feel About Them
You never know when the last time you see someone is going to be. Instead of letting those “I love you” statements go unsaid, speak up. Tell your kids that you love them as they head to school. Kiss your partner on the cheek. Don’t let anyone feel unwanted or unloved.
5. Treat Yourself NOW
If you have any hope of doing good for others, you are going to need to be your best self. Sometimes, that means taking day for yourself. Make sure you feel happy and healthy today so that you can devote tomorrow to people that you care about.
