Surprise! Husband Plots To Kill Wife...Then She Shows Up To Her Own Funeral
be funky

This sounds like something out of a suspense movie where there is a plot twist and the lead character isn't dead after all. Only difference is, this isn't a movie and Noela Rukundo actually crashed her own funeral. According to the Washington Post Rukundo's husband, Balenga Kalala, of 10 years, hired a group of men to kidnap and kill his wife!

After traveling from her home in Australia to her native Burundi to attend the funeral of her stepmother, Rukundo was distressed and overcome with grief. Her husband then called and suggested she go outside to get some fresh air. That's when he allegedly put his plan into motion. As soon as Rukundo stepped outside, an armed man rushed her, told her not to scream, blindfolded her and pushed her into a car. The kidnappers drove her to a a strange building and tied her to a chair. This is when things got real. Rukundo found out who really was behind all of this...her husband.

One of the kidnappers told her “Balenga sent us to kill you.” But like any devoted wife, Rukundo insisted that they were lying until the kidnappers called up Balenga on the phone and she heard what no wife wants to her.

“Kill her,” Balenga said. Cold blooded.

Fortunately for Rukundo, the kidnappers were just in it for the money. So after squeezing Balenga for more cash, they let Rukundo go saying they didn’t believe in killing women, and they knew her brother.

Fast forward to the day of her funeral where Rukundo sat in her car watching family, friends and loved ones gathered at her home to say goodbye. Her husband told everyone Rukundo had died in a fatal accident.

When Rukundo saw Balenga, she got out of the car and said “Surprise! I’m still alive!” Boom! Now that's how you do it...can y'all imagine the look on his face?!

Balenga replied “Is it my eyes? Is it a ghost?”

After initially denying he had anything to do with his wife's planned murder, Balenga then blamed the devil saying, “Sometimes Devil can come into someone, to do something, but after they do it they start thinking, ‘Why I did that thing?”

Boy Bye.

Eventually he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to nine years in prison. Sometimes life truly is stranger than fiction.
