Come on. You know you've had a crush on a fictional character at some point, whether that be Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. They're just soooo dreamy, right? Well, until you take them out of their fictional world and put them in actual real life situations. If some random guy came up to you and started talking about how he puts unlit cigarettes in his mouth as a metaphor, you'd probably just awkwardly walk away. Or would you? 

1. "You are my life now." -Edward Cullen

Yeah, please tell me your entire life is dedicated to me right after meeting me. That's like, worse than saying I love you. You may be a vampire, Edward, but we're gonna pass.

2. "It's a metaphor, see: you put the killing thing right between your teeth but you don't give it the power to do it's killing." -Augustus Waters

From a literary point of view, this line is AMAZING. You can even call it a masterpiece if you'd like. However, if a random guy (yes, even Augustus) came up to you as a teenager and tried telling you how putting an unlit cigarette in your mouth is a great idea, you'd freak out. And you'd probably think he was super pretentious, too.

3. "If you're going to be bad, be bad with purpose. Otherwise, you're just not worth forgiving." -Damon Salvatore

I think it's safe to say we're blinded by Damon and his beautiful blue eyes too often. We forget that this man is actually a terrible person! He's basically telling Elena, "I know I've killed some of your closest friends and family members, but it was all for purpose. You, however? Everything you do is invalid."

4. "Have sex with me...just once. That's all I need." -Chuck Bass

Chuck and Blair might be the internet's favorite couple, but this doesn't change the fact that Chuck can be sort of privileged sometimes. Imagine if some guy whispered this in your ear? Uhh...sexual harassment much?

5. "She is mine. I didn't say I would fight fair." - Edward Cullen

This one isn't too bad, at first glance at least. But when you really look into it, Edward and Jacob we're actually fighting over Bella. Like...she just couldn't choose for herself? REALLY? If that happened IRL, you know you'd freak out.
