Jay-Z Addresses Racist NFL Owner Who Called Players Supporting Kaepernick ‘Inmates’
Jay-Z has the backs of Colin Kaepernick and the so-called NFL ‘Inmates.’
While kicking off his 4:44 Tour in Anaheim, California, Jay Z continues to turn up the political heat that he started with the album by addressing the comments made by Houston Texans owner Bob McNair.
“[They’re] injuring themselves on the field, giving it all they got. That’s how they look at you. That’s what they think about you,” Jay Z said. “We got so much further to go. The truth is we all believe in whatever you believe in. God, Allah. Whatever you believe in, we come from one source which means we are all brothers and sisters at the end of the day.”
Hov is not the only person who addressed the comments. Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin also had strong words.
“When the comments first came out, it was like, this is serious. How far are they going to take it? To see them what they did today, I wasn't surprised,” Baldwin told USA Today. “I'm 100 percent backing them. I'm supportive of what they did, the decision that they made, because those were egregious comments, and the lackluster apology is just hard to deal with.”
New York Jets wide receiver Jermaine Kearse emphasized McNair's comments being a distraction. “At the end of the day, we’ve got to stay together and stay focused on the issue and not what somebody said, because that’s what it’s all about,” Kearse said.
The comments by McNair were bad enough, but knowing that it came from one of many NFL owners who financially supports Donald Trump, according to Heavy, is proof that he actually meant what he said. So yeah, it was a lackluster apology and fake. The only kind he could give.
