Jessica Chastain's 'Hidden Figures' Show About White Women Has People Pissed & Confused
Jessica Chastain is developing a new television series event, titled Mercury 13, focused on the women that were the first beta testers for Mercury 13, an astronaut training program.
Sound familiar? Fans are accusing Chastain of copying the concept of Hidden Figures, except casting a bunch of white women instead. Bad timing Chastain, bad timing...
The show is set in the 1960s and due to the overlap of some events, the show will cover some of the material already covered in Hidden Figures. While Chastain's show covers a different part of history, her intentions seem questionable.
Black women have a huge moment in both history and film, and you have to chime in immediately after with an insanely similar concept?

However, some users don't really see the big deal considering they are different stories, despite the NASA ties:
Hmmmm...what do you think?
