Jimmy Kimmel Thanks Trump At The Oscars, Calls Out Meryl Streep For Being 'Overrated'
Jimmy Kimmel didn't hold back with his opening monologue at the Oscars. It got quite political, to say the least. Let's just say he wasted no time with the Trump jokes!
He started his monologue by thanking Trump for being racist, because he took the attention away from #OscarsSoWhite. "Remember when last year the Oscars were considered racist?," Kimmel said.
And while we all adore Meryl Streep, Kimmel took a jab at the Oscar-winning actress by agreeing with Trump and calling her overrated.
"One actress has stood the test of time for her many uninspiring and overrated performances," he said. "[She's] phoned it in for more than 50 films. This is Meryl's 20th Oscar nomination ... she wasn't even in a movie this year, we just wrote her name in out of habit."
As Streep hid in embarrassment, he then complimented her dress and said, "Is that an Ivanka?"
Well played, Kimmel. Well played.
