Kanye West Releases Extended 17-Minute Remix Of The-Dream's 'Bed'
It is officially Yeezy Season again! After an eight-month SoundCloud hiatus, Kanye is back at it with a 17-minute long version of "Bed," sung by The-Dream. You won't want to miss a minute of this remix, trust. No new vocals from 'Ye, but you probably won't be complaining about that after you give it a listen.
It should be noted that the version we're all familiar with was released by J. Holiday back in 2007. The-Dream co-wrote the original with Los Da Mystro about a decade ago for Chris Brown, and we were able to hear that version on an unofficial Dream mixtape entitled LoveTape: The Demo's from 2010. The new 17-minute version which was assisted by DJDS (who worked with 'Ye on 2016's The Life of Pablo) popped up on February 15 during a Yeezy Season 5 fashion show.
The track is very ominous and airy, musically reminiscent of the latter half of Frank Ocean's Blonde album, and specifically "White Ferrari," a track we eventually learned was produced by Kanye. There's quite a bit of repetition of the hook and bass figures, but this version's atmospheric and hypnotic nature will have you floating while you listen.
What else is Yeezy up to for the fifth season of his fashion line? There's no telling what to expect, but he's already coming out the gates swinging with familiar and refreshing content, so we're hopful. Let's see what else he has in store!
