Kendall Jenner's Protest Pepsi Ad Mocks 'Black Lives Matter' And The Internet Is Seething

Kendall Jenner is in the limelight yet again. This time, it's involving a Pepsi commercial that has everyone shaking their heads into oblivion.

The two-and-a-half minute commercial shows Jenner living the glamorous life of a model behind closed doors...until she notices a protest happening outside. Suddenly, she wipes off her ruby red lipstick and rips off her blonde wig so she can "save the day." The reality star then grabs a Pepsi and walks through a diverse crowd of people of all races, genders and orientations cheering her on for literally no reason whatsoever.

Then, the supermodel casually approaches a line of policemen and hands one of them a Pepsi. As expected, the officer takes a refreshing sip, and then proceeds to let off his guard as the entire crowd cheers. Who needs protesting when you have supermodels and carbonated beverages to solve the policing issues in this country?

Watch the train wreck for yourself:

We assume the ad was well-intentioned, but it actually received backlash from both the left and the right wing.

It's one thing to create a Pepsi commercial where the soda brings people together at a football game or a concert, but a protest? If someone marginalized actually shoved a Pepsi in an officers face, they'd most likely be arrested. Do you think if the hundreds of black men killed every year due to police brutality would've been safe if they carried Pepsi with them?

Despite the backlash, Pepsi is standing by their creation.

“This is a global ad that reflects people from different walks of life coming together in a spirit of harmony, and we think that’s an important message to convey,” the company said in a statement to Adweek on Tuesday evening.

Coke is better anyways.
