I Lived Like A Disney Princess For A Week & Here's What Happened

Live Like Disney Princess Girls Life
Kristina Webb

When I was a little girl, all I ever wanted was to be a Disney princess. Actually, scratch that. I STILL want to be a Disney princess. Not because of their beautiful wardrobes or their perfect waists. Not even because they are rolling in inheritance while dating a really dreamy dude. It's something more intangible, something beyond what meets the eye.

Although all of the Disney princesses are rather different, they have one thing in common: they make the most of each and everyday. To them, life is a beautiful journey. That's why I want to be a Disney princess. Their strength, their courage, and their ambition makes me want to become a better person.

I'm fully aware I will never actually be a Disney princess, you know, unless Disney wants to cast me as one. (I'm available, y'all.) However, I did try to live as one for a week anyways. Here's what happened.

1. I saw the glass half full. ALL. THE. TIME.
Despite circumstances not being ideal, I knew I had to stay optimistic. This really payed off. Sure, being optimistic and hopeful can help you stay calm in a lot of situations. But I think when other souls see you stay positive during hard times, you're more likely to get further in life. Someones always watching...

2. I dressed like a...princess?

Gotta dress the part, right? I get so caught up in the day-to-day stuff sometimes and that significantly affects my wardrobe. Leggings and t-shirts basically take over my life. But I wanted to feel good. I wanted to feel like myself. So I wore gorgeous dresses and cozy sweaters and lavender lipstick all because I could. I felt like people treated me better, as superficial as that sounds. Your style is a form of expression, so people can tell a lot about you by the way that you dress. After this experiment, I wanted to express myself through fashion a lot more.

3. And obviously, ate how I wanted.

YAAAAS! We're talking vegetarian gumbo, vanilla scones, berry tea, and fancy cheese plates. Everything I put in my body had purpose and not to mention, I thoroughly enjoyed it. A princess eats what she wants and I wasn't going to sell myself short. What did I learn, you ask? Make every meal count.

4. I radiated nothing but love.

When you're surrounded by toxic people, or even just toxic situations, sometimes you forget that life is beautiful and there are, well, non-toxic people out there. I decided I wanted to radiate love just like all of the princesses do. If you send out love to the universe, the universe will send you that love back.

5. I worked harder than ever.

So many of the princesses get a bad reputation. "All they do is look pretty and fall in love!" Uhhh...false. They might be pretty and they might value love but they've got dreams of their own, too. I used the strength and integrity of my favorite princesses to get my shit together, to be quite honest with you. I was sick of waiting around!
