IHOP waiter Elijah Arnold was opening up the restaurant when he heard something unexpected: the cash register opening. Knowing full well that it was not another employee, Elijah jumped into action to save the day and single handedly stopped the burglary.

We hafta warn you though....don't try this at home!

“When I stepped into the gallery, I just got that feeling where I just needed to wait and listen.” Elijah said in a local news interview. Moments later, he went with his gut instincts and fought off the thief.

Elijah is not some amateur street fighter though, he went in with his third degree black belt like Taimak in The Last Dragon. Good for him...but terrible for the thief who received a merciless butt whoopin' from the young waiter.

Sounding like Muhammad Ali or Floyd Mayweather giving a post-beatdown interview, he said,“I ran up. He, like swung, the crowbar at me. I blocked with this arm, and then hit him with this hand, and pulled him to the ground.”

If you think Elijah's bloody shirt looks bad...you should see the other guy.

Elijah explained, “During that process, I don’t know if my face hit the register, hit the ground, or just hit him in the face--both because he had a scar on his head, and I have a big bloody nose now,”

You may be asking why he did not just let the thief take the money and spare himself the trouble. Elijah does not think of it that way. Just two weeks before, he was homeless. So he sees this job as a way to get back on his feet and was not about to let some thief spoil that. He didn't want the thief to hurt the restaurant that gave him a chance. He does not like to be trifled with.

“That was my money in the register,” he said. “It was my manager’s money in the register, and it was my IHOP’s money in the register. And I’m not gonna let anybody take that.”

We're just glad nobody was seriously hurt. Brave thing to do, but scary....could've ended up completely different if the thief was armed with more than a crowbar. Salute to you Elijah!
