Take the "Work" Out of Your Workout with These Fun Routines
Are you sick and tired of going to the gym? With summer just now getting into full swing, it can be pretty easy to wistfully stare out the window at the chirping birds while you treadmill away under the fluorescent lights of the workout room.
Maybe it’s time to get out of your comfort zone and exercise in a completely different and exciting way. Check out these new ways of exercising that won’t feel like work at all. In fact, you’ll have a blast doing them!
Trampoline
Need to get in a cardio workout? Well, this is a great way to make that happen! Instead of calculating just how many minutes and what incline you need to be at to work off that piece of chocolate cake you had last night, you can jump around and do flips. That sounds way more fun, right?
Take a Dip
This one combines a cardio routine with a full body workout. There’s really nothing that works out your while body like a good swim. Not only will your lungs be burning, your muscles will be screaming — in a good way. Whether you opt to take a trip to the beach or simply dive into the closest pool, you are going to be treating your body to an excellent workout.
Get a Little Sexy
Are you in the mood to be a little bit naughty? Replace the pilates with a burlesque class or a stripper pole class. Both options have a bit of a “red light district” connotation, yet at the same time, calories will be dripping off of you along with the sweat. These types of classes can be deceptively difficult. That’s what makes them so great when trying to find a fun workout.
A Recess Favorite
Remember Simon Says? Have you ever thought about combining that with a workout? Get a particularly sadistic friend to call out commands that you have to follow. But be careful, if you do something without the command “Simon says!” things might get a little bit worse. You’ll be spending so much time focusing on the words, you'll forget you’re even working out! We suggest jumping jacks, push ups, or even some freestyle dancing as commands.
