Man Goes To Jail For Beating Ex, Making Her Walk Naked In Street
WTF?!!! A Harlem man who was convicted of beating his ex-girlfriend and forcing her to walk down the street naked — while he filmed and yelled at her — was FINALLY sentenced to two to seven years in prison.
Yeah, you read that right.
It all went down in Jan. 2016 when Jasson Melo, 26, got mad at his baby's mama for getting a text message from a man. He then allegedly beat her and cussed her out for hours if she didn't take off her clothes and walk down the street naked.
Meanwhile, their 2-month-baby was in the apartment the whole time.
Look at this mess for yourself.
'Take off your towel! Co-operate b***h. Show what you are, so pretty and so great. She's a tart. Let's go. Let's go. Say hi to the camera and say why you're doing this," Melo said.
He continued: "Take off your towel and pay the price for the shame I feel after telling you how pretty you were and that I wanted to start a family with you, but in the meantime you were talking to seven other men."
He was later convicted of coercion, assault, menacing, endangering the welfare of a child, and aggravated harassment, reported Buzzfeed News.
The ex-girlfriend said in court that the entire experience was terrifying and humiliating.
“I felt mortified. It was horrible. I felt so embarrassed,” she said. [I] saw neighbors, but no one did anything.”
Even worse? Melo allegedly promoted the video and tried to capitalize on his newfound fame by selling merchandise with quotes from the footage, The New York Daily News reported.
“I was devastated about everything. It was really hard,” she testified. “It’s still hard to get over it.
“It’s something that I’m going to have to live with forever.”
She also told the jury that Melo would constantly break her phones for nothing more than showing him photos of her. That, and during a past fight, he bit her in the cheek.
In all of this, did Melo take any blame? Nope.
The Daily Mail wrote that when he was arrested, Melo defended his actions saying: 'I didn't hit her or anything. Even the detectives are here with me and some of them congratulated me because they see how happy she is and I didn't pull her hair or anything."
"Some of the other prisoners are also on my side and they say some of them would have done worse things."
MAN WHAT??? We hope during his time in the slammer he finally gets why this was F'd up.
