Meet The First Black Whiz Kid To Build A Nuclear Fusor
Steven Udotong (GoFundMe)

We're having a #proudparent moment, and this isn't even our kid. 16-year-old Steven Udotong from New Jersey is the first black student to ever build a nuclear fusor.

Yep, he's a certified genius!

"I'm motivated knowing I'm proof that there are many ways for minorities to pursue success. Sports and music are not the only avenues for us," Steven told The Well.

Thanks to a GoFundMe account, he raised the dough to get this thing up and running.

For all you not-so-smart folks, no need to hit up Google. Let Steven explain what a nuclear fusor is all about -- "A nuclear fusor uses electricity to heat charged atoms to a point where nuclear fusion can occur."

Still confused? Well, bottomline, nuclear energy gets a bad rap and Steven is on a mission to change that.

"I want people to know that there are alternate methods for obtaining power and energy. I want to examine more clean energy products and stop fearing the word 'nuclear.' Nuclear energy is a lot safer than people think."

You tell 'em, Steven!

His prototype came to life last summer while attending the Yale Young Global Scholar program in Singapore.

Yep, this kid is one to keep tabs on. He definitely has a bright future ahead!
