Yes, you read that right...Crazy story!

School district officials in Florida say they followed standard protocol when a 7-year-old student was locked into handcuffs after he allegedly punched his teacher in the back, kicked her, and grabbed her hair.

Standard protocol? Say what!!

A teacher at the Coral Way K-8 Center in Miami says she told the first-grader to stop playing with his food in the cafeteria, but he wouldn’t. So, he was taken out of the room…but he wasn’t having it.

The report says the boy struck the teacher repeatedly in the back as she struggled with him in a hallway outside the cafeteria. The child kept on punching and kicking the teacher until they both fell on the floor.

The cops were called. So were the lil man’s parents, Rolando Fuentes and Mercy Alvarez.

Cellphone video, which has now gone viral, shows the child wearing metal handcuffs and being escorted by a Miami-Dade County police officer from Coral Way Bilingual K-8 Center to Miami Children's Hospital for mental evaluation.

The youngster was hospitalized briefly, based on behavioral criteria that indicated he could pose a threat to himself or others, school district officials said.

Ian Moffett, the school district's police chief, said in a statement that it is "rare for students this young to be Baker Acted," referring to Florida law that allows police and other officials to press for involuntary institutionalization in regard to a psychological evaluation.

The teacher said her back was hurting after the incident but she didn't have any visible injuries, according to police. Still, she told officials she intends to press charges.

The parents insist their kid never showed aggressive behavior at home. Alvarez says she is looking into why her child began having problems there since the school year started. "This is too much for a boy that age to go through. It can't be a normal procedure," she said.

There are more questions than answers right now—like, how could an entire school run by adults not handle one 7-year-old child? Did the cops really have to handcuff him? Is this the parents’ fault or the school’s? Some people are wondering if the child is on the spectrum, which could explain his violent response to being touched.

What do think, fam?? Weigh in here!
