'What Am I Supposed To Do With This?' Michelle Obama On Melania Trump's Inauguration Gift
If you're anything like us, you've also been wondering what exactly was in that Tiffany's box Melania Trump gave to Former First Lady Michelle Obama at Trump's Inauguration last year.
Well, thanks to Ellen Degeneres being nosey, we finally know not only what was in the box, but how Michelle felt about having to hold on it.
“It was a lovely frame,” Michelle said in her first TV interview since she left the White House.
She also shed some light on how strange it was. Michelle says it's all about protocol.
“I mean, this is like a state visit, so they tell you that you’re going to do this, they’re going to stand here,” she explained.
She also shared with the audience what was going on in her head at the time:
“Never before do you get this gift, so I’m sort of like, ‘O.K., what am I supposed to do with this gift?’ And everyone cleared out and no one would come and take the box. And I’m thinking, do we take the picture with it?”
LOL!!!! Girl, you know some people don't know any better.
However, Michelle's story wasn't over.
“And then my husband [Former President Obama] saved the day,” she continued.
“See, he grabbed the box and took it back inside. But everybody cleared out. No staff, no one. I was like, what do you do with the box?”
WE SEE YOU OBAMA!
But let's be honest: We have a feeling that Michelle threw that damn box and frame away or regifted it to some unsuspecting sucker!
And who can blame her if she did?
Yes, it was nice of Melania to think of her, but given how horrible Melania's husband has dogged President Obama and worked so hard to undermine his legacy, I wouldn't want a constant reminder of him in my house.
REAL TALK! It's bad enough that the Obamas live a few blocks away from Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner. Nah, son.
