There's a debate going on in Hollywood...and it's heating up! Double pay + double standards = women standing up for their equal due. The latest....Mo'Nique!

Oscar winner Mo'Nique is feeling the outrage, and she’s encouraging her fans to help her out by boycotting media giant Netflix. As in, don't watch Netflix. She wants you to kiss Luke Cage goodbye, and kick your Orange Is the New Black addiction cold-turkey.

It's all because she says the streaming service offered her significantly less than other comedians for a forthcoming comedy special—like, MILLIONS LESS.

The 50-year-old stand-up comedian and actress took to social media to explain the reason for her anger. "I am asking that you stand with me and boycott Netflix for gender bias and color bias," she says in a video she posted on Instagram.

"I was offered a $500,000-deal last week to do a comedy special," Mo'Nique explained. "However Amy Schumer was offered $11 million, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle—$20 million. Then Amy Schumer went and renegotiated two more million dollars because she said, 'I shouldn't get what the men are getting, they're legends, however, I should get more,' and Netflix agreed."

Mo'Nique went on to say that she and her team "asked Netflix to explain the difference" between herself and Schumer. According to Mo'Nique, Netflix said that it’s because Schumer sold out New York City's Madison Square Garden twice and had written and starred in Trainwreck that she was offered more money.

"Is that not Amy Schumer's resume? And then Netflix said, 'By the way, we believe Mo'Nique is a legend too,'" the Precious star added. "Why shouldn't I get what the legends are getting?" Good question.

"Please stand with me in this boycott of Netflix," she concluded. "I love us for real."

Folks love Mo’Nique for real too, but not as much as they love their Netflix apparently! #LOL

Others say she's just not worth the millions.

There’s a few ways to look at this.

  • Sista’s on her own here. “Some battles you gotta fight alone,” said one Twitter user.
  • She does deserve at least the same millions as Schumer, but boycotting Netflix isn’t the answer.
  • Hello, Hulu!
